La válvula es un componente de control en el sistema de transporte de fluidos, que tiene las funciones de cerrar, regular, desviar, prevenir contracorriente, regular la presión, desviar o aliviar la presión de desbordamiento. Las válvulas para sistemas de control de fluidos varían desde las válvulas de globo más simples hasta válvulas utilizadas en sistemas de control automático extremadamente complejos en una amplia variedad de variedades y especificaciones.
